Bouillotte Lamp

French Bouillotte table lamp of brass with a painted green shade with a bee design. The shade interior is white. The shade is adjustable on the center brass column. It has three electrified candles. These lamps are named after the card game bouillotte from the 18th century. The lamps were placed in the center of a French bouillotte marble top table and the card game was played around the outer edges of the table. The shade was adjustable so it could be lowered for more light on the cards as the candles burned lower.
