Antique English Mahogany Writing Box on Stand

Circa 1840 English mahogany writing box with military style brass banding frequently used for a desk in traveling military campaigns. It has two handles for transport and a commemorative Brass engraved plaque with the name Paul P Smithe London 1910. The inside of the box has a compartment under the writing surface for the storage of documents and a drop down compartment in the top for paper and supplies. The original leather has been replaced with a green vinyl. It has one of two ink bottles and a key. The overall interior is fair but the exterior of the box is good and presentable. It has been used. The stand is new.
